The Adda river runs along the Valtellina floor nearby. Tirano, the nearest town of size, is a few kilometres away and has rail services, shops and the Bernina railway terminus; the Bernina line is UNESCO-listed. The Bernina Pass road and the ski areas above Aprica and Bormio are part of the wider mountain setting, with the nearest lifts around Aprica roughly 20 minutes away by road. This part of Valtellina is known for terraced vineyards on the sunnier slopes, alpine valleys and cross-border routes into Switzerland.
