Rustico in Buglio in Monte

The cluster is on the south side of the Valtellina with the Rhaetian Alps rising immediately above and the broad Adda valley floor below. The Adda runs through the valley within a few kilometres. The Orobie Valtellinesi Regional Park lies just to the south on this side of the valley. Morbegno is the nearest larger town, with rail services, shops and the main valley road and rail corridor. Sondrio is the nearest provincial town, with fuller services and the main historic centre of the middle Valtellina. The area is known for terraced vineyards on the sunnier valley side, apple growing, and Valtellina food products including bresaola and alpine cheeses. Madesimo and the Valmalenco ski areas are the nearest substantial lifts, both requiring a mountain drive well beyond the immediate area.
