Location score 68/100The cluster is in the wooded pre-Alpine hills of the Valli del Natisone, close to the Slovenian border. The Natisone valley is the main local landscape feature, with steep slopes, small hamlets and mixed forest around the ridge villages. The wider setting is the eastern Friulian Prealps; higher Julian Alpine scenery begins farther north but is not inside the immediate 15 km landscape. Cividale del Friuli is the nearest substantial town, with a preserved historic centre and the Lombard UNESCO site. The area is known for the Slovene-speaking villages of the Natisone valleys and for hill farming, woods and chestnut country.
