Location score 72/100The cluster is in the Collio, a belt of wine hills on the Slovenian border. The Judrio river marks part of the area to the west, and the Isonzo/Soča valley is a few kilometres east around Cormons and Gorizia. This is a farmed hill landscape of vineyards, wooded ridges and scattered hamlets rather than high mountains. Gorizia is the nearest town of size, with rail links, services and a substantial historic centre on the border. The area is known across Friuli Venezia Giulia for Collio wine, especially white wines.
