The cluster is in the eastern hills above Verona, in the Val di Mezzane, with vineyard and olive-growing slopes and low pre-Alpine ridges leading up toward the Lessini Mountains. The Progno di Mezzane stream runs down the valley. The nearest larger city is Verona, which has full services and a major historic centre. To the north, within this hill belt, the landscape connects with the Lessinia area, known for stone villages, pasture and cherry growing in the valleys east of Verona. This part of the province is also known for Valpolicella and eastern Veronese wine production, though Mezzane sits outside the core lake or high-mountain scenery that gives some parts of Verona province their stronger national profile.
