Rustico in Jonadi

The area lies on the inland side of the Costa degli Dei around Vibo Valentia, with low hills of olive groves and fields descending toward the Tyrrhenian. The Mesima valley is nearby inland, and the Calabrian Serre rise farther to the east. The nearest coast is the Tyrrhenian at Vibo Marina and the Gulf of Sant’Eufemia. Vibo Valentia is the nearest town of size, with full services and a historic upper town on a hill. Tropea and the better-known cliff coast are farther up the shore, useful for outings but outside the immediate landscape. The area is known mainly for ordinary Calabrian hill agriculture and for access to the Vibo-Tropea stretch of coast.
