The Astico river runs through the valley. The area is tied to the Pasubio and Monte Cimone sector, with mountain roads and trailheads rising above the valley floor; the nearest winter skiing is on the Folgaria-Lavarone plateau, roughly 40–50 minutes by road depending on the access point. Schio is the nearest larger town, with full services, rail access and a substantial historic industrial centre. This part of the province is known for prealpine valleys, wartime history on the Pasubio front, and mountain food products from the Altopiano and Valli del Pasubio area.
