Gallio sits next to the main Asiago plateau settlements, and Asiago is the nearest town of size with services, a historic centre and the war memorial area on Leiten hill. The plateau is known for First World War sites and ossuaries, mountain dairy production including Asiago cheese, and winter sports. The nearest ski area is Melette, directly above the Gallio-Asiago side of the plateau, with other lifts on the plateau at short driving distance.
