The Astico river runs through this area. The northern edge of the province here links into the Prealpine mountain landscape associated with the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, and roads climb quickly from the valley floor toward mountain villages and high pastures. The nearest substantial town is Schio, which has full services, industry, and a larger historic centre.
