Rustico in Gallio

The cluster is on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, with the Vicentine Prealps around it and broad upland pastures and woods rather than a plain landscape. The area is within the upper basin of the Brenta system, with mountain valleys dropping south toward Bassano del Grappa. Gallio sits next to the main Asiago plateau settlements, and Asiago is the nearest town of size with services, a historic centre and the war memorial area on Leiten hill. The plateau is known for First World War sites and ossuaries, mountain dairy production including Asiago cheese, and winter sports. The nearest ski area is Melette, directly above the Gallio-Asiago side of the plateau, with other lifts on the plateau at short driving distance.
