This is a big, real, usable house rather than a ruin: roofed, finished main floors, bathrooms in place, and plenty of space to live in immediately. The best wow comes from the bright rooms and the panoramic valley-to-sea outlook from the balconies, while the house itself is fairly ordinary and dated. Good value for the size, but it feels more solid and practical than dreamy.

Inland from the coast the landscape is mainly agricultural, with olive groves, fields and scattered villages on ridge tops. This part of southern Abruzzo is known for olive oil, vineyards and the meeting of hill country with the Adriatic littoral.
