Aspromonte National Park lies inland in the mountain area above the city. Reggio Calabria is the nearest city of size and has major urban services, the seafront, the port connections across the strait, and the National Archaeological Museum housing the Riace Bronzes. The area is known for views across the strait to Messina and Sicily and for bergamot cultivation in the wider Reggio area.
