The Aspromonte National Park is inland to the west, but its core mountain landscape is farther from the coast than the immediate 15 km surroundings. The nearest larger centre is Locri, which provides the main services for this stretch of coast. This part of the coast is known for sea turtle nesting beaches around Brancaleone and for the Greek-Calabrian inland villages of the southern Ionian side.
