Within roughly 15 km the landscape is a mix of wooded ridges, cultivated slopes and small industrial areas tied to the ceramic district around Sassuolo and Scandiano. The nearest larger town is Sassuolo, which has full daily services and a substantial urban-industrial belt. Farther south the Modenese and Reggiano Apennines rise toward the main ridge, but the higher mountain scenery is outside the immediate area. This part of Emilia is known for ceramics and for the transition from plain to foothill countryside.
