Paestum is the nearest major historic centre in the area, with the Greek temples and the archaeological site on the plain. Eboli is the nearest larger town for everyday services and rail connections. This part of Campania is known for mixed farmland on the plain, olive groves on the hills, and for buffalo-mozzarella production in the Sele plain.
