The Monti Picentini Regional Park begins farther north and east, outside the immediate radius. Eboli is the nearest substantial town and has a full service centre, a hilltop historic quarter and the usual rail and road connections of the Sele valley corridor. This area is known for agriculture on the plain, especially vegetables and buffalo-mozzarella country toward the Sele and Paestum side.
