The Adige runs through the valley nearby. Castello di Avio is within this part of the valley, and Rovereto is the nearest town of size, with a substantial historic centre, museums and rail services. The area is known for vineyards and wineries along the Vallagarina corridor. Skiing is not at the door here: the nearest lifts are on the Brentonico plateau and at Polsa-San Valentino, roughly a 30 to 40 minute drive.
