A hands-on buyer wanting a quiet Appennine retreat suits this house best. The balconies look over wooded mountains, and the private courtyard and garage add useful space. The area around
Location score 63/100The cluster is in the upper Curone valley in the Ligurian Apennines, with wooded ridges and pasture around the scattered hamlets. The Curone stream runs through the valley, and this side valley lies close to the Parco Naturale Regionale delle Capanne di Marcarolo only farther west rather than inside it. The nearest skiing is small-scale Appennine skiing around Caldirola and Salice Terme-area uplands, roughly a 30–45 minute drive depending on the hamlet. The nearest town of some size is Tortona, which has rail connections, services and a substantial historic centre. The area is known for quiet Apennine villages, chestnut woods, mushrooms and the mixed Piedmont-Liguria mountain culture of the Four Provinces zone.
