Rustico

This is the plain between the Stura di Demonte and the first Cuneo hills, with the Maritime Alps forming the mountain backdrop to the south and west. The Stura valley begins within this radius toward Cuneo and Borgo San Dalmazzo, giving the area a clear corridor toward the Alps. Fossano itself is a sizeable service town with a preserved historic centre and the Castello dei Principi d'Acaia. Cuneo is the nearest larger town and provides the main urban services of the area. The Langhe hills lie farther east but are mostly outside the immediate 15 km landscape. The area is known for mixed farming and for being part of the agricultural plain south of Turin at the foot of the Cuneo valleys.
