Schio is the nearest larger town, and Vicenza is the main provincial city for services, rail connections, and major monuments. Recoaro Terme, a short drive up the valley, is known for its mineral springs and for access to the Piccole Dolomiti around the Carega group. The area is known for its industrial valley settlements and for mountain walking in the upper valley toward Campogrosso and the Piccole Dolomiti.
