Adriatic coast with long sandy beaches, bathing establishments and a seafront promenade. The Adriatic railway runs along the coast with a station at Roseto and nearby stations at Tortoreto and Giulianova. Nearby coastal towns within the local area include Tortoreto (south) and Giulianova (north). Atri, a hill town with a medieval historic centre and the Duomo di Atri, lies roughly 10–15 km inland. The land immediately inland is low Apennine foothills used for agriculture, including olive groves and vineyards that produce local Abruzzo wines and olive oil. There is no national park inside a 15 km radius; the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park and the main Gran Sasso massif lie considerably farther inland. Nearest ski lifts (Prati di Tivo on the Gran Sasso) are about 45–60 km by road. Abruzzo (Pescara) airport is roughly 35–40 km by road and the provincial capital Teramo is around 25–30 km inland, providing administrative services and larger shops. The town has received Blue Flag (Bandiera Blu) awards for its beaches in multiple years.
