Pineto's beaches have held the Blue Flag (Bandiera Blu) for water-quality and services in multiple seasons. The town is on the Adriatic railway line and the A14 motorway runs along the coast with nearby exits. Nearby towns within about 15 km include Roseto degli Abruzzi on the coast (larger bathing resorts and a marina) and Atri inland, which has a medieval centre and a cathedral.
