The cluster sits in the southern foothills of the Dolomites (Prealpi Bellunesi). The Piave river and its valley run through the surrounding area and form a principal transport corridor. Feltre (around 20,000 inhabitants) is the nearest larger town and provides a historic centre, shops, secondary schools and a railway station on the Calalzo–Padova line. The immediate landscape is a mix of wooded hills, pastures and small agricultural plots typical of the Belluno province. Mountain roads and trailheads into the Dolomite foothills are within short driving distance, providing access to hiking and seasonal mountain tourism. Ski lifts are in the higher Dolomite resorts and require a drive; they are not inside the immediate village landscape. Local economic activity includes forestry, small-scale agriculture and services for nearby towns and visitors.
