Belvedere Marittimo has a historic upper town and a seafront lower town with everyday services; Scalea is the nearest larger coastal centre on this section of shore, and Paola farther south is the main rail stop for wider connections. The western edge of Parco Nazionale del Pollino is inland beyond the immediate coastal strip, but it lies outside the 15 km landscape around the cluster.
