The area sits in the low hills between the Asti and Turin plains, with mixed farmland, small woods and scattered villages. The nearest larger town is Chieri, which has a substantial historic centre, shops and services; Asti and Turin are farther but part of normal regional life. This part of the province is known for vineyards and mixed agricultural countryside of the Monferrato margins, though the core UNESCO wine landscape lies farther south and does not fall inside the immediate area.
