The cluster lies in the Montoro valley between the Monti Picentini and the first inland ridges west of Avellino. The Solofrana valley runs through this area, with mixed farmland, scattered industry and road infrastructure between the built-up centres. The Monti Picentini Regional Park begins nearby and gives the area a mountain backdrop within short distance. Salerno is the nearest city of size, with full services, rail links and port functions; Avellino is also close for everyday services. The area is known for Montoro onions and for being a corridor between the Irno-Solofrana plain and the inland Campanian valleys.
