The cluster sits on the Serra d'Ivrea, the long morainic ridge left by the Balteo glacier, with wooded slopes and a sequence of small hill villages between Biella and Ivrea. The Elvo valley and the lower Biellese prealps are nearby, and the higher Biella Alps rise to the north within the local horizon. The nearest substantial town is Biella, which has full services, a railway terminus, and the wool-textile heritage for which the area is known. The Oasi Zegna mountain area is farther north in the Biella Alps, but not inside the immediate 15 km landscape.
