The cluster is in the Prealps of Biella, in the Sessera valley, with wooded slopes and ridgelines rising quickly above the built-up area. The Sessera river runs through this part of the valley. The Alta Valsessera natural area lies nearby, including the upper valley below Monte Barone. Bielmonte, the local ski area in the Biella mountains, is the nearest lift area and is about 30–40 minutes by road. Borgosesia is the nearest larger town with everyday services, and Biella is the main provincial town with a fuller range of shops and administration. This part of the province is known for textile mills and for hiking terrain in the Biellese mountains.
