Sovramonte sits in the foothills of the Venetian Prealps (Prealpi Bellunesi / Alpi Feltrine). The Cansiglio plateau and Foresta del Cansiglio lie within roughly 15 km and form a karst plateau with extensive beech woods. The Piave river runs through the valley below; the nearby town of Feltre sits on the Piave.
