The nearest larger town is Lanciano, which has a substantial historic centre, services and rail connections on the coast via nearby stations. The coast is at the Costa dei Trabocchi around Fossacesia and San Vito Chietino, about 15 km away from this part of Atessa. The wider area is known for olive groves, vineyards and mixed hill farming, with industry concentrated lower down in the Sangro valley.
