The nearest ski lifts are on Monte Sirino above Lago Laudemio, roughly 25–35 minutes by road depending on the starting point. Lauria is the nearest town of size, with a full small-town service base and a large historic centre spread over the hillside. Maratea on the nearby coast is the main recognised destination in the area and is known for its indented Tyrrhenian shoreline and the Cristo Redentore statue above the town. The area is also known for wooded mountain slopes, valley roads between Basilicata and Calabria, and access routes linking the interior to the Tyrrhenian side.
