Rustico in Castiglione in Teverina

This is hill country on the border between northern Lazio and Umbria, with cultivated slopes, woods and ravines above the Tiber valley. The Tevere is the main river of the area, and Lake Alviano lies within this radius on the river plain. The Oasi WWF Lago di Alviano, a protected wetland on the reservoir, is the main natural site nearby. Orvieto is the nearest town of size, on its tuff cliff, with a cathedral and a substantial historic centre. Civita di Bagnoregio is also nearby, on its isolated tuff hill, and the wider zone is known for vineyards and olive growing.
