Lioni is the nearest town of some size, with everyday services and a rail station on the Avellino-Rocchetta line used for heritage runs. Bagnoli Irpino and Laceno, the nearest ski area, are roughly an hour away by road, so they do not define the immediate setting. Conza is known for the archaeological park of ancient Compsa and for the WWF oasis around the lake, important for birdlife.
