The nearest ski area is Santo Stefano d'Aveto, roughly 1 hour 30 minutes by road. The nearest larger town is Busalla in the Scrivia valley, while Genoa is the main city used for higher-order services and transport. This part of inland Genoa province is known for chestnut woods, beech forest, hiking on the Ligurian Apennine crest, and old stone hamlets in the valleys.
