Cefalù is the nearest town of size in daily use, with rail access, a full set of services and a historic centre on the coast. Cefalù is on the UNESCO list as part of Arab-Norman Palermo and the Cathedral Churches of Cefalù and Monreale. The area is known for the Madonie uplands, olive groves and hill villages between mountain and sea.
