The nearest substantial ski area is Santo Stefano d’Aveto on Monte Bue, roughly an hour by road. The nearest town of size is Piacenza, which provides the main rail connections, services and a full city centre. The area is known for Apennine pasture, woodland, mushroom foraging and scattered stone hamlets.
