The cluster sits in the lower Sarca valley / Valle dei Laghi at the southern edge of the Garda Prealps (Garda Mountains). The northern tip of Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) and the towns on its northern shore lie within about 10–15 km. The Sarca river runs through the valley and the local area includes small lakes such as Lago di Toblino and Lago di Cavedine. Limestone cliffs and crags around Arco and Riva del Garda, within a few kilometres, are used extensively for sport climbing; the lake at Riva/Torbole is a centre for sailing and windsurfing. Nearest towns of size are Arco and Riva del Garda, with tourist facilities, shops and lake access; the provincial capital Trento is about 20–25 km to the east and provides regional train connections and provincial services. There are no major downhill ski lifts inside 15 km; the nearest larger ski areas (for example Monte Bondone) are a roughly 40–60 minute drive. The surrounding agriculture includes fruit orchards and vineyards, with olive cultivation on lower slopes nearer the lake. Outdoor recreation available within the local area includes hiking on the Garda Prealps and watersports on Lake Garda.
