Via Cordicella, Burgio

The area sits in the inland hills above the lower Belice and Verdura valleys, with the Sicani mountains close by; Monte delle Rose and the inland ridges of the Monti Sicani are within this landscape. The Riserva Naturale Orientata Monti di Palazzo Adriano e Valle del Sosio lies nearby in the Sicani area and is the main protected landscape in reach. Burgio is linked in local identity to ceramics and bells, and the surrounding countryside is a mix of grain fields, olive groves and wooded hills. Sciacca is the nearest larger town in daily use, with a port, services and thermal tradition. The coast near Sciacca is reachable by road, but the cluster is not on the coast itself.
