Monolocale in Marsiglia

The cluster lies inside the built-up area of Marseille (Marsiglia), a city of around 850–900 thousand residents. The local relief includes the Massif des Calanques along the coast and the low Massif de l'Étoile to the north. The site is on the Mediterranean coast (Bay of Marseille) with the Frioul islands and the 16th‑century Château d'If offshore. Parc national des Calanques runs along the coast and islands within the 15 km radius. There are no ski lifts within 15 km; the nearest Alpine ski areas are a multi‑hour drive to the north and northeast. Marseille is the nearest town of size and provides a major commercial port, passenger ferry connections to Corsica, a TGV/high‑speed rail station, regional hospitals and an international airport (Marseille Provence) roughly 25–30 km northwest. The wider area is the Marseille–Fos large port and industrial complex and is associated with maritime commerce, ship and freight traffic, and local products such as savon de Marseille and the regional fish stew bouillabaisse.
