This is inland Cilento, with low mountains and wooded hills at the edge of the Alburni-Cilento interior. The Calore Lucano valley is the main landscape element in the area, with the river running below the hill settlements. The Cilento, Vallo di Diano e Alburni National Park extends across this part of the province. Roccadaspide is the nearest larger hill town with everyday services, and Capaccio Paestum is the main larger centre toward the plain. The wider area is known for olive groves, inland Cilento villages, and access routes toward Paestum and the Cilento interior.
