Soverato is the nearest town of size, with a seafront, marina, rail station and the main services for this stretch of coast. Catanzaro is the larger provincial city used for higher-level services and administration. This part of the gulf is known for beach resorts, olive groves and citrus on the coastal strip and lower hills.
