The area lies in the eastern Veronese hills at the mouth of the Val d’Illasi, with vineyard-covered slopes and low limestone ridges that lead up toward the Lessini mountains to the north. The Progno d’Illasi stream runs down the valley. The nearest larger city is Verona, with the full services, rail connections and major monuments of a regional capital. To the north, the Parco Naturale Regionale della Lessinia begins beyond the lower hills, and the closest ski area is the small station of San Giorgio in Lessinia, roughly an hour away by road. This part of eastern Verona is known for vineyards and wine production, including the wider Soave and Valpolicella country nearby.
