This is Monferrato hill country, with vineyard slopes, mixed farmland and small ridgelines around the village. The nearest river landscape of note is the Tanaro valley, a few kilometres away. Asti is the nearest larger town, with full services, rail connections and a substantial historic centre. This part of Monferrato is known for wine, especially Barbera and other Astigiano and Monferrato denominations.
